3 determination of the scope of required information and statistics, based on international tools. This was carried out through the Committee’s Secretariat working closely with its dedicated working groups and the competent authorities involved in the risk assessment, in coordination with the relevant government entities and in partnership with the private sector. These efforts aim to identify risks through a comprehensive national assessment, which determines the threats, vulnerabilities, and consequences associated with money laundering, terrorist financing, and proliferation financing, in order to provide a more holistic understanding of the risks. Accordingly, a national strategy has been developed based on the outcomes of the National Risk Assessment report, aimed at understanding these risks and threats, addressing associated vulnerabilities, and managing them through the optimal allocation of resources to mitigate and counter such risks. This is achieved by establishing a comprehensive framework encompassing all relevant authorities in the Kingdom of Bahrain. The National Strategy for Combating Money Laundering, Terrorist Financing, and Proliferation Financing is designed with flexibility to accommodate any developments or changes in the risk landscape, in line with the evolving nature of these crimes and the changing methods used to commit them. The strategy is structured to adapt to such changes, enabling the relevant authorities to respond effectively according to the circumstances.
