Assessment of the ML threats in Bahrain revealed that during the sample period, the most prominent proceeds-generating predicate offences that pose ML threats were "drug trafficking" and "fraud". Ultimately, a targeted risk-based national strategy was developed to address the NRA's findings. 12. With strong high-level commitment, Bahrain will persist in improving its AML/CFT/CPF framework, concentrating on the priority issues identified through the risk assessment. In summary, the measures implemented by the Kingdom of Bahrain have strengthened the legal and operational framework for combating ML/TF/PF. This initiative is backed by significant political support and careful oversight from the Cabinet of Ministers, guided by the leadership of the Ministry of Interior and aligned with Bahrain’s National Roadmap.
